A Year of Gratitude – March 1, 2024

I found my gratitude in an unusual place today. All day long, Facebook was encouraging me to make a post for World Compliment Day. It’s not something I was familiar with, so I did a quick search and learned that it is always celebrated on March 1st and was started as a way to encourage people to show kindness and positivity to others.

That’s something I want to be a part of. There’s far too little kindness and positivity in the world. So, I hope that you are ready for me to show you my gratitude for the wonderful group of people that you are. It’s difficult to compliment an entire group of thousands of people at once, so I’m going to group you together and talk to you like one being.

You are kind.
Thank you for being kind to me and to each other. I know that social media can be a cruel place, but I am amazed every day at the kindness the people in this group show to each other. It inspires me each and every day.

You are present.

Thank you for being here, for choosing to be a part of this community of people that I spend my days with. Thank you for giving me a place to share a piece of my world and for receiving it with an open heart. I am so grateful for all of you.

You are important.

I hope that you feel seen here. I hope that you can feel the warmth of this group’s kindness and love on the days that you need it most. In those moments when the world seems dark and overwhelming, I hope that your visit here gives you hope and helps you to find a bit of beauty in your day.

You are beautiful.
It seems childish to say that a person’s beauty comes from the inside, but I believe that to be true. Who a person is on the inside is where true beauty comes from. It’s not necessarily a beauty that the world appreciates, but it is exactly the kind of beauty I am looking for. I have found it in you, all of you beautiful people who treat each other with kindness, love, and respect.

Everyone deserves to be treated with love and kindness. Unfortunately, we aren’t always surrounded by people who treat us that way. So, on this day, and on every day, I hope that you can see yourself for the wonderful person you are and that you can treat yourself with the kindness you show to others. You deserve it.

You are a wonderful combination of experiences, hopes, gifts, dreams, skills, and grand possibilities.  I am so grateful to spend my days with you.
