A Year of Gratitude – September 25, 2024

I found my gratitude in a unexpected gift from the garden today. I wasn’t expecting our roses to rebloom, but here they are. They’re producing beautiful fragrant blooms just as the rest of the garden is getting ready for a winter nap.

I’ve mentioned lately that it seems like these late season blooms are all the more special because they appear as the garden is beginning to look sparse. Without all of the other flowers, these plants that can muster the strength needed to produce a bloom have the spotlight all to themselves.

This rose has at least a dozen buds on the stems nearby. I can’t wait to watch them open up and show off these pretty pink petals. Set against the backdrop of colorful fall leaves, they’re going to be showstoppers.

This post is part of our A Year of Gratitude Series. You can find the introduction, inspiration, and entire year’s gratitude’s posts here.
