A Year of Gratitude – August 19, 2024

I found my gratitude while I was out walking through the garden yesterday. I was taking a photo of the big bloom on the right. I love how it seems to fade from dark purple to fuchsia in the same bloom.

When I looked at the photo, I noticed that the little bloom on the bottom left was such a stunning combination of that deep purple with pale green centers. Each one is such a colorful collection of petals.

I’m so glad that I captured it in this photo quite by accident. If I hadn’t, I might not have seen it. I was so busy looking at the other blooms that u had missed it.

It’s interesting how you can be so focused on something and completely miss what is right before your eyes. We can be so centered in our thinking that we overlook something equally amazing. I did just that today when taking this photo. It was only later when I looked at it that I saw the whole picture.

I’ll try to remember that as I go through the days ahead. I’ll try to be mindful and aware, to really see what is around me, both literally and figuratively, to widen my focus and take it all in. When I do, I’ll have this little amazing flower to thank for the reminder I needed.
