A Year of Gratitude – August 1, 2024

My gratitude was swaying in the breeze this morning. This zinnia was standing tall, several inches above the other zinnias in our garden.

It was impossible not to stop and admire this gorgeous, colorful bloom. Just look at the shape of each piece, the colors of them. They’re stunning. The contrast between them is almost unbelievable even after seeing them with my own eyes.

My mom and I started the seeds for our zinnias in the spring. We transplanted them when the time was right and have been tending to them through our heat this summer. I like to think that they are rewarding us for all of our hard work by producing these amazing blooms.

I’m thankful that the tiny seeds we planted months ago became such gorgeous flowers. I’m so lucky to have seen this one. I couldn’t wait to take a photo and share it with you.

It’s easy to feel gratitude when looking upon something so beautiful. I’ll carry the memory of this flower with me through this day and into the next.

I hope that your garden will give you something equally beautiful to enjoy and carry with you through the days ahead.
