A Year of Gratitude – June 6, 2024

Finding the very first tomato of the season on the vine is a reason to be filled to the brim with gratitude. I found that gratitude today.

I first planted a small vegetable garden here on the farm to grow fresh tomatoes for our family table. I have planted tomatoes in our garden every year since then. I love having those delicious tomatoes growing right outside our door.

This plant seems to be determined to produce the first ripe tomato for me this summer. This variety is called Heartbreaker and this is the first time I have grown it in our garden. I can’t wait to try it.

Here’s to gardens, a place where the hope of delicious meals can grow. It’s amazing how much enjoyment I take from our garden. I can’t wait to turn these tomatoes into the first BLT of the season!

How are your tomatoes doing this year?
