A Year of Gratitude – October 28, 2024

I didn’t have to look far to find my gratitude this morning. It was right outside the door. Somehow, this one single daisy bloomed on a plant we had already counted as finished for the year.

I guess that this plant had other plans. It didn’t care that we had decided it was done blooming. Instead, it found the strength to bloom. This cheery flower was all alone in this part of our garden.

In a space that was lush with perennials of all colors and sizes, a single bloom remains. And yet somehow, that one flower brightens up the space that was once home to dozens of flowers. Perhaps that single flower is all the more important because it is the only one standing.

Be this flower today. Shine bright. Stand tall. Let your beauty be seen by the world even if you feel as though you are standing alone. Your beauty matters. It makes the world a brighter place just for you being in it.
