A Year of Gratitude – October 18, 2024
I found my gratitude in a delicious meal shared with wonderful company this evening. As a rare treat, I didn’t plan, cook, or clean up after this dinner. That was something to be thankful for before even tasting the food.
Dining out isn’t easy for a family that lives with food allergies. It’s not something that we do all that often, so it really is special when we can enjoy a delicious meal without worry.
We had a wonderful meal from start to finish at a local restaurant. They went to great lengths to share information about the allergens we need to avoid. They were thorough and kind and made us feel so comfortable.
It’s extremely rare for us to be able to enjoy a dessert at a restaurant. This white chocolate mousse was so delicious served with a cornmeal cookie dusted with key lime sugar. The combination of flavors and textures was such a scrumptious way to end a delightful meal.
Every dish we shared was deliciously prepared, beautifully presented, and a chance to experience new flavors and seasonal produce at its very best. I was so busy enjoying myself that I didn’t take a single photo until we had nearly finished dessert. I was simply too busy enjoying myself. That’s a very good, and in this case delicious, reason for gratitude.
