A Year of Gratitude – October 17, 2024
Today was one of those glorious days where I seemed to be surrounded by reasons for gratitude. I spent a wonderful day with one of my children on a road trip to Hanover, New Hampshire and Norwich, Vermont.
It was such a beautiful day. The weather was lovely. The foliage was so spectacular on our drive North. It would have been worth the drive just to enjoy the scenery.
We stopped in Hanover and grabbed a delicious pour over coffee at The Dirt Cowboy. We walked over to the Dartmouth campus and sat on a bench under a glorious maple tree. We sipped our coffees and watched students hurrying to class, people walking dogs, joggers, and people walking to downtown.
After a few hours in Hanover, we took a short drive to Norwich to visit King Arthur Baking Company’s headquarters. They have a beautiful campus that includes a retail shop, a cafe, a bakery, test kitchen, and baking school. It’s such a lovely place to visit if you love to bake.
On our way home, we saw more colorful foliage. It’s amazing how much the colors can change only 70 or so miles from home. I’m so glad that I made the time today to go and see what we saw, to make memories that will last a lifetime together.
