A Year of Gratitude – June 14, 2024

Gratitude was held tightly inside this peony for me this morning. I was mesmerized by the pattern of its petals. Just look at how amazing they are.

How could I not be filled with wonder when looking at this flower? There are so many petals, perfectly folded around each other in a way that seems impossible. Yet, there they are.

Each petal is in its place. Every one of them is intertwined with the petals next to it without damaging each other, without bruising or bending the adjacent petals. When this bud opens fully, the petals will have the space to stretch apart and feel the sun and breeze.

Nature has so much to teach us. Imagine if we could be connected to each other while protecting each other, while allowing each of us to have our space, to turn our faces to the sun. We could support each other and then cheer each other on as we each have our moment in the sunlight.

I hope that you have that sort of day today. I hope that you have the space to stretch your wings and also the support of the people around you.
