A Year of Gratitude – February 7, 2024

Gratitude was waiting for me this morning. I didn’t know it when I opened my eyes and got out of bed, but this was waiting for me in the dining room. While I am not a morning person, seeing this minutes after I woke up made me very happy to be up and ready to start my day like this. 

The most splendid and beautiful things in life often require waiting and frequently test our patience. They take shape in their own time, on their own schedule. They simply can’t be rushed. 

I have been waiting for these blooms since December. There have been moments when I was impatient, when I felt like they were never going to bloom. And then they did. They were always going to bloom, even when I doubted that they would. 

This morning, they opened up and made a beautiful display of blooms that was worth the wait. It’s no wonder that they took so long to bloom. Beauty like this can’t come together quickly. It takes time.  

I hope that your day included something beautiful and that it treated you kindly.
