Homemade Orange Julius Shake

Homemade Orange Julius Shake

Orange Julius Shake at 1840 FarmI have fond memories of my mother treating me to an Orange Julius as a child. During the hot summer months in the Midwest where I spent my childhood, they were a refreshing way to beat the heat.

With food allergies to work around here at the farmhouse, my children’s memories of this delicious drink have been of the homemade variety.  Years ago, I decided to try to develop a recipe for our own homemade version of this frothy treat that we could safely enjoy at home.

We tried several versions before deciding that this one was absolutely perfect.  Since then, we’ve made countless batches of this delicious drink and have even frozen some into popsicles that are the most amazing creamsicle you’ll ever taste.  When the weather warms up each spring, this drink becomes a way to welcome the season and treat ourselves to something cold and delicious.

I hope that you’ll love this homemade Orange Julius shake as much as we do!
